Oh ok yay I'll send what I had meant to say lol srry for taking so long: I think it was you who just replied in my guestbook but when I have my flip phone outside the best thing is that it keeps you alert to your surroundings thanks to one less distraction, especially because I live and move in a violent chaotic place. If I want to do something with my hands outside and it seems safe I've gone back to bringing a book or my ipod or both. As far as maps goes I don't have a printer unfortunately so I can't print directions and I have to use my old smartphone instead ONLY for the maps app. I don't connect it to wi-fi via mobile hotspotting unless I need to do something Internet and don't have my laptop on me. And that drains battery on my real phone so as soon as I don't need it anymore I disconnect it. I don't take pictures often but if I do it's either using my former smartphone as a camera if I have it on me, or using an old Canon from the 2000s my mom gave me. It takes self discipline but eventually when you only move places with a flip you get used to it like anything else. I go back to the same kind of situational awareness I had as a kid when we only had shit like keyboard slide phones. If I want to or have to do anything Internet I go on the computer or my laptop. I carry cash and coins or use my credit card itself for tap pay. Even when I was just using the smartphone for everything tap pay was always a [censored] and didn't like to work right so I'm glad I don't use that anymore. My city is still mostly physical menus too so restaurants aren't an issue. I think the whole idea of menus through QR is fucking stupid anyway and I wouldn't want to eat from a place like that. There was only two times I went somewhere with a QR menu and both times the food was ass so lol. I also carry stationary for notetaking and a planner. My site is based on the kids sites and flash game places I used to visit as a kid so that may be doing something lol. Thank you. My carrier wouldn't make a garakei work so instead I use the Kyocera E4610. Because it's meant for trade workers it can take abuse which is what I like and the battery life is about a week; probably more if you turned it off in storage instead of keeping it on 24/7 like I do. You have T9 predictive but I never really did that as a kid on my slide I was used to typing out every letter and so I still do that. You get faster at it and muscle memory each letter group naturally after a while. There's nothing a smartphone can do that a PC can't do better. When you try to make one thing do everything it'll have more and more glaring weaknesses compared to the direct control over one thing made for a specific purpose. And the convenience trade off means nothing if you can't control how you use the smartphone to begin with which app devs take advantage of on purpose to foster addiction. It was scarier to me to lose more and more of my life to something that didn't even have the same kind of freedoms something with more power does.

yessuhhh! thx for your reply!!!! <3 I love that for you. I had a flip phone when I was younger and I thought it was so lame, but now I miss having that child-like wonder and not giving an f about anything except for my friends and the stuff going on around me in the current moment. my smart phone is still in good shape so I'm planning to let it live its course and then switch to a flip. that said, I've been finding alternatives to enjoy stuff without my smart phone such as buying physical media & using my digicam for pics! there's just something so magical + I feel more alive having single use devices and having/using physical things biggrin andddd I agree with you 100% dude, the idea of spending a sh1t ton of my life glued to my phone is scary and is very much such a loser way of living tbh. thx again for ur response!!!!
